WHAT IS DERMAL FILLER? There are a few types of dermal fillers available and each of them have their own benefits. Dermal fillers can be used to enhance, plump, or rebuild collagen and elastin within the body. It is commonly injected into: •Lips & nasolabial folds •Cheeks & Jawline & Chin •Hands & more WHAT IS IT AND HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a volumizing filler injected into the lips, cheeks, nasolabial fold, chin, and/or jawline. It provides immediate and short-term volume and plumpness while reducing the appearance of wrinkles, folds, and fine lines. HA fillers commonly last 1 – 1 ½ years depending on where it is placed, and the product used. Examples of HA Dermal Fillers: •JUVÉDERM® product line by Allergan/AbbVie/ Allē •Restylane® product line by Galderma •RHA® Collection by Revance •Versa™+ and Lips™+ by Revanesse® RADIESSE® is another volumizing dermal filler made with a gel called Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA), which provides immediate and long-term improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles, while also improving skin quality over time. CaHA provides biostimulation of collagen and elastin. This means the body is building its collagen and elastin over the next 1 – 2 years. SCULPTRA® is another volumizing dermal filler made with a synthetic gel called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA), which provides long-term improvement and reduces wrinkles, firms the skin, and improves skin quality. PLLA-SCA stimulates collagen instead. This means the body is building its collagen and adding volume over the next 1 – 2 years. TOUCH UPS & FINAL RESULTS You will see results right away, but touch ups will not be done until at least 2 weeks after your treatment. We wait 2 weeks because it takes time for the redness, swelling, and bruising to go away. You must wait at least 2 full weeks to see the final result. AVOID COMPLICATIONS: Dermal Fillers should not be used if: •You are pregnant or breastfeeding. •You have allergies to the product, lidocaine, or gram-positive bacterial proteins. •You have a current infection, swelling, a cold sore, or dermatitis of areas that will be injected. •You have a medical condition that causes difficulty healing.
